Hello Spring!

Today feels more like summer than spring but I’m sure we are all grateful for the sunshine and warmer temps. What is your favorite season?

A Project Update

Last month I shared a little about the lake house I’m working on in Michigan.  Well, materials are ordered and on their way there.  This laundry room wallpaper tells the story of lake life!  The images of canoes, Adirondack chairs, jumping dogs, and swimsuits depict a perfect lake day!  We selected this fun red laminate for the countertop in the laundry room and nearby ½ bath.  The teal background of the wallpaper will be continued as the wall color (Benjamin Moore, Majestic Blue) in the hall and nearby mudroom.  This fun “sunlight” will be centered on the hall wall up to the main entry.  How fun is that?

This horizontal red and white stripe wallpaper will be hung in the ½ bath.  We are on the hunt for a vintage swimsuit to frame and hang in there.  Let me know if you know of one!

So Many Stripes

Usually, you see stripes run vertically.  Just as we are hanging horizontal red and white stripe paper at the lake house, these chairs were recovered with the stripes running horizontally. This traditional wing chair now looks more modern and current with horizontal stripes and large nailhead trim. The dark blue painted fireplace updates the den and blends in with the adjoining kitchen of the same color.

Need An Outdoor Refresh?

With these warmer days, it is time to think about getting outdoor furniture ready for the season.  Take a look at your patio furniture cushions.  Are they in need of a facelift with new fabric?  Sunbrella has some fun prints that will add new life to your existing furniture.  This fun geometric would be beautiful inside or out.

Give me a call at 740-337-1649 to get on the schedule to have them re-covered.

When Life Gives You Lemons

Doesn’t the taste of lemon remind you of Spring?  One of my favorite things is lemon muffins.  They are great for breakfast or brunch or an afternoon snack.  Pine Tree Barn makes a fabulous lemon muffin in their restaurant.  It’s been a long time since I’ve visited there but they are so sweet to publish their recipe.

I’ve made them.  Try the recipe.  You won’t be disappointed.

Some words of wisdom until next time,

I’m not usually one to show off all of my accomplishments. If you haven’t seen this article from the Marion Star I suggest you take a look! I loved sharing my journey and passion for interior design.
