The groundhog saw his shadow so we are in for 6 more weeks of winter. We have been pretty lucky with the temps we’ve had so far. Even so, I am ready for winter to be over.
The snowmen I put out after Christmas are now packed away. I wanted to remove all traces of winter inside our home. A couple of new green plants and changing accessories give a new look in the dining room. My glass candlesticks are a favorite of mine. Here they are filled with antique bottle stoppers rather than candles. Faux snowdrops are under the cloche. Don’t forget to shop your house to give your rooms a little different look.

An Update on My Home Projects
Last month I shared with you the projects I had in mind to get done at my house. I’m happy to tell you that my husband did an awesome job with putting wood on our kitchen ceiling. It didn’t take him long at all. Since I was close by to help hold any boards, I cleaned out my kitchen cabinets! Two things got crossed off the list! Every year the angles in the drywall would split with the temperature changes. Putting wood on the ceiling was our solution to that issue. We love it!
Another project on my list was to put a blue grasscloth on the back of the built-ins in our sunroom. That project is also crossed off the list. I love the color and texture. Some different accessory arrangements make that end of the room feel totally different.

Do you need more counter space?
Do you need to organize your hair products or cleaning products on your vanity? This stock metal piece (find it where the wood dowels are) and ClosetMaid brand of wire baskets (all available at Lowes) are all it takes. Attach the metal channel with wood screws to the inside of the vanity door. Make sure you use screws that are 1/8” shorter than the thickness of the cabinet door.
