Hello Holiday Season
The month of November kicks off the seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas and it goes quickly! As soon as the calendar flips to November, we are bombarded with Christmas dƩcor. I read a lot of dƩcor blogs and those people are already totally decorated for Christmas. Of course, the dƩcor has been out in the stores since August. I love the Thanksgiving holiday and am not willing to rush past it. Are you in full holiday mode?
A Recent Fabulous Find
Iāve written about one of my favorite destinations ā The Rural Society Antique show and sale. This year did not disappoint. This beautiful soup tureen is now at home in my dining room. It is so beautiful and heavy! The detail is incredible. When you see something that just āspeaks to youā, it was meant to be. These pictures donāt do it justice. Iām not sure what will be in it for Thanksgiving, but it will be front and center! The Rural Society is having a Holiday Sale on Dec 1 and 2. All the vendors will be inside. You may want to check it out!

Iām starting to think ahead to Christmas decorating as far as what I will fill the tureen with. Check out these inspiration photos.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH: Cranberry Almond Slaw
With all the food served on Thanksgiving, sometimes something light and crunchy is just what you need.Ā

November Celebrations
There are a lot of fun days to celebrate in November, some more common than others. Of course we honor our veterans on the 11th. Did you know that Nov. 14th is National Pickle Day? The 15th is National Clean Your Refrigerator Day! Thatās a great tip to do before Thanksgiving. Friday, Nov. 24 is Black Friday and Youāre Welcome Day.
The 25th is Small Business Saturday. Remember to support the local stores. After shopping and watching the BIG game (Go Bucks!), come downtown for the 2nd annual Lighted Truck Parade. This brings a fun twist to your typical Christmas parade. Light up your truck and join in the fun. Entry forms are available on the downtown Marion site here!Ā
World Kindness Week began in 1997 and this year if Nov. 13-19.Ā Whatās your favorite way of showing kindness? Donāt you love it when the car in front of you pays for your coffee? Doing that for the next person makes you feel even better! A card to say Iām thinking of you or a hand written note of thanks gives a good feeling to you and the recipient. Mark your calendar to see how many days you can brighten that week.
Happy Thanksgiving!Ā
