Happy April!

Happy April!

The BIG event is merely days away! Monday, April 8 is the total eclipse. Have you gotten your eclipse glasses yet? I’ve been told that many downtown businesses have them. Do you have big plans? My plan is to stay home and watch it in my backyard.  Here is a link for safety precautions and what to expect in case you missed it last month.

Updates in my Home

On my home front, I’ve decided to paint my kitchen. Actually, I have the most wonderful husband and he is a great painter. He will be doing most of the painting although I will help! I’ve lived with the green for quite a few years. When I mentioned that I had the color narrowed to 3 selections, he said he could start the next day! I love the enthusiasm, but I still had to find a fabric. The samples arrived and I’ve finalized the paint color. It will be PPG1148-5, Cathedral Glass. It looks so good with my cherry cabinets and white trim. Coming off the dining room, which is Sherwin Williams Sea Salt, it’s a beautiful transition. The Cathedral Glass color is in the pattern of the dining room draperies. I’m excited! The fabric is ordered, but it is on backorder. You won’t get to see the finished product until June or July! In looking for a fabric, I wanted it to have some black in it because I like using black and white check and my chairs are black. This selection is perfect.

great impressions

How many times have you heard me say, “One thing leads to another” or “Give a mouse a cookie…”? It is so true.

During Covid, I painted the back of my built-in bookshelf in a green ombre effect. That now needs to change. I think it will be a black and white wallpaper but I haven’t decided on that yet. I am considering this dot pattern.

It’s a possibility that I could continue a black and white wallpaper into the nearby half bath. This project now sounds like it will conflict with my gardening time! I think it is time to stop for now!

Pasta for a Busy Day

After writing this, it sounds like I’m going to be busy. My go-to recipe for busy days is my version of Pasta Primavera. It is quick and easy and varies based on the vegetables on hand. We enjoy it and hope you do too. I have this in my head so here goes:
